Dre Oster
was a remarkable
and resilient
young man.
He had all the talent and
ambition in the world.
He loved music, art, and animals.

Dre was the most
loving and caring
person I ever met.

Dre’s musical progress is on
pace with the best young

Dre had one
constant—
his geckos.

Don’t be sub-standard;
go above and beyond
and dive
deep into the realms
of life because you never know
what tomorrow will bring.

What, Hershey
isn’t like the
Wonka Factory
and
there’s no
golden ticket.
Dre

He was a foodie who loved
cheese and would never
turn
down the opportunity
to try something different.
But Dre never made it
to his 21st birthday.
Dre died from an accidental overdose at just 20 years old. His talent and kindness were unique.
But his death wasn’t.
Since 2016 there have been over 46,000 overdose deaths in Canada.
Fentanyl use among Canadian young people has tripled since 2014, and 94% of overdose deaths in Ontario now involve Fentanyl.
Fentanyl can be easily placed into many drugs, including cannabis.
Canada has a mental health and addictions crisis.
And, it is getting worse.

Dre was diagnosed
with bipolar
disorder in 2021.
After diagnosis Dre lived with his grandmother, Sandy, and made amazing progress.
With Sandy’s support, consistent healthcare and the correct medication, Dre began attending the local school and thrived—despite missing three years of education.
Dre continued to do well and was accepted into Teen Challenge for a year-long rehabilitation program.
Unfortunately, Dre never
made it to
His stability with Sandy was interrupted by family members, and Dre quickly regressed, despite diligently taking his medication.
Teen Challenge Canada is a 12-month, faith-based, in-residence drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for people over 18 who find themselves in a similar situation to Dre’s.
If Dre had made it to Teen Challenge, we believe he would still be here with us today.
Please consider a donation to this amazing program today.
